Hi,
I'm a newbie in body building but have been hitting the gym for about three years. I'm thinking of taking some supplements but I have a few questions about the trainint.
My current situation - No supplements - Jog twice or thrice a week - Hit the gyms twice a week - Never bother about diet
The body build is okay only (slight V shape, six packs barely visible). I want to grow biceps and trim the tummy to show more of the 6 packs.
If I take supplements, how can I prevent other areas from growing big. I noticed some builders in the gym, although their biceps are big, so are their waistline. How to prevent that? Would taking fat burners while doing cardio help?
The first thing to do is to control my diet, but what are your recommendations for supplements if I should want to accelerate? Thanks

Welcome aboard my friend...
Taking supplements is not a miracle... to grow muscles.. you have to pump hard in the gym or else supplements are even pointless
Growing big depends greatly on your diet.. are you willing to do it the clean way or the dirty way.. clean bulk is your diet is strict ... and dirty bulk just means. .you dont really care what goes into your body...
For you aim for a clean bulk and your good to go, fat burners are not miracles, there are just gimmicks... the only fat burner you need is your diet.. tweaking your diet daily as you go is much more effective than just popping in pills..

Thanks hardcore, I do pump weights in the gym. Up to now, I'm not too concerned with diet previously so results are very slow.
Body is still looks better than average person, most people think I'm a body builder instructor. But of course, not perfect enough yet, especially biceps too small. Other parts are okay, so I do lots of bicep curls. Again growth is slow as I don't focus on protein intake, so I'm wondering if there are supplements can help accelerate but not the other body parts. I only take amino acids so far when body ache, not very familiar with supplements.

dont always do bicep curls.. do a variety of exercises for your arms attack them from all angles.. and remember to that your comsuming the right amount of protein intake too
again.. supplements are not 1 day miracle pill... pump hard and wait to see results... when i was young.. i always wondered wht's taking so long for my muscles to grow and I always look up to the professional bodybuilders... as years went by i'm happy with what i feel and look now...
just be patient.. you will see results as time goes by..

I do work out other areas, just pumping hard at biceps and triceps. Other areas like chest don't need to grow already.
I don't maintain the protein intake. I understand you should take in the protein 1 hour after workout, but I don't eat meals directly after that. Even do my meals may not have the right protein level. As said, don't watch my diet too much, just not too oily and fried, that's all.
So thinking of supplements. What do you recommend?

What do you recommend? always try to get a decent amount of protein everyday.. always consume protein IMMEDIATELY after workout as your body has just went through an intense session, and drink plenty of water... for the beginner, i would just suggest creatine and protein..nothing fancy

Thanks for the advice, yes drinking sufficient water is important. I do that.
Taking creatine and protein, yes, but it doesn't really answer my question. How to grow the arms bigger but not the rest? I noticed many gymers taking creatine shake but both the arms and other parts are big.
Maybe I post a picture of myself. Would it help?

one of the rules in bodybuilding is to be patient ... be patient.. your arms wont grow 5 inches in a day... and of course to have huge arms is to eat big too..

I noticed many gymers taking creatine shake but both the arms and other parts are big. Maybe I post a picture of myself. Would it help? let me try to get your questions right: Q- you want to know what supplements to take to SOLELY help in accelerating growth of your arms(bicep + tricep)? A- to the best of my knowledge, there are no supplements available that would help promote growth in a particular muscle, so your only way is through your training. Q- you want to know how to become big without your waistline becoming big. A- there are many different schools of thought here... "you cannot bulk and lose fat at the same time because to lose fat = caloric deficit = not enough calories to bulk up = no increase in arms size" or "your body becomes a fat-burning machine when you build muscles because more muscles = higher metabolic rate = burn more fats, but to build muscles = more calories = can't help but to gain some fats = increase in waistline"... etc. so i think your best bet would be to increase your protein intake and focus on different ways to train your arms hard and heavy using hammer curls, preacher curls, etc. concentrate on your triceps because its visibilty makes up 2-thirds of your arms, so do your dips, tricep pulldowns and skullcrushers.

Thanks. Yes, I don't want to grow in the waist area or upper body anymore. That's why doing cardio a lot, but if I take supplement to grow the biceps, then don't want other parts to grow. This is a picture taken

instead of worrying about adding inches to your waistline, whatsay u go on a cutting phase and lose that ring of flubber and pump up your shoulders. your big upper body gives the illusion that you have a small waist. you cannot just grow one part of your body individually bigger proportionately than other parts of your body. from what i see, the underlying muscles of you torso is proportionately congruent with those of your arms. if you worry about getting a big waistline, then don't do any direct obliques work.

Thanks. What do you recommend? Currently doing more jogging (half an hour) whenever I can, try to eat less oily food, and pump the arms out to failure. What about supplements? I'm really newbie in supplement stuff
