Hi all. I am a complete newbie to body building, and I am definitely not a hardcore trainer. Instead, I train simply to have a lean and strong body.
One problem I notice is that I always get muscle ache. After I have done like 45 diamond pushups, the next day and the day after, my chest area would experience a slight pain.
Every single kind of exercise I do is bound to give me some kind of muscule ache when I do past my previous record.
Now, question is, do I continue to exercise? Regardless of muscle ache or not, I always leave a full day to rest my muscles before I do the same excercise.
Day 1 : Did 55 standard pushups. Day 2(break day) : Pain comes Day 3(time to exercise again) : Tries to do push ups, but pain remains.
On day 3, should I force myself to do the push ups? I have heard my friends telling me that I should continue to do exercises and ignore my pain, but I have also heard of cases where persistent exercise caused long term muscle injury which resulted in them losing exercise and even going to the doctor.
P.S : What is this "do exercise to the point of failure" thing? Please enlighten me.

your muscle ache is called DOMS, delayed onset muscle soreness..
after hitting a muslce part, try to take a 5 days break before hitting the same part again.
exercise till the point of failure means pushing yourself to never give up, for example, u aim for 10 sets, and your struggling with 8, you try to go 2 more and you push and push, still cant make it to 10.. thats the point of failure... but there's no point as failure.. is all MENTAL in bodybuilding...
