according to Louis Simmons, he said that a powerlifter that do parallel squats 700lb can do 400lb full squat easily, but an olmpic lifter that do full squat 400lb cannot do 700lb parallel squat due to the demands on hamstrings and glute muscle which are more well develop on the former exercise as compared to full squat. what is your take on this?

Very true. Notice that when u proceed down during a full squat, ur hams and glutes take a break while at the bottom while powering up again. With the parallel squat, ur hams and glutes are exposed to constant tension throughout the whole lift ;D

but can i say that full squat can develop better looking legs and butt since glute muscles are not as involved as those in parallel squat, and full squat focus more on quads which is more ideal for bbers?

I like to vary my squats. Sumo, shoulder width stance and close stance to work different muscle parts.
Once in a while, will do breathing squats...boy this is tough cookie but shiok.
Thanks for the postings in this page about half or full squat, sometimes I do this like a superset squat. This is a full squat then rise to a half squat and down again into a full squat without standing up and then up all the way. This is called a full and half squat. Try it and then crawl home.

care to share what is a breathing squat? looks like the 1.5 squat is murder. dont think i will do it, my knee cap will be screaming in pain. Breathing squat is usually done on leg day. You only do one set of this and no other exercises because you will be too pooped to do so. But you will get explosive lower body growth as well as overall musculature improvement. This exercise is not for the faint hearted. A spotter is definitely necessary. Correct form is crucial to prevent injury. Because of the intensity of this exercise, you may feel woozy and this is normal for breathing squat. So don't forget to breathe. Go to the squat rack or a barbell rack, choose a weight which you can normally lift 10 reps. But now do 30 reps instead and progressing weekly adding an extra rep per week until you hit 40 reps. When you do hit 40, take a break from breathing squat for a month, then add more weight and start from 30 again. Sounds absurd because how can you lift a weight which you can do only 10 reps? Well, I thought so too in the beginning but having tried it out, it can be done, because u are allowed to rest at the standing position with the weight on your shoulder for as long as 2 minutes before you hit the next rep when you are tired. But never never rest at the bottom position unless you want to bust your knees. Try it. You may puke and crawl home. But the results are definitely worth it and it also gives you some sort of a high and sense of achievement. Sorry, not for those with blood pressure and heart problems.
