Being a vegetarian bodybuilder or fitness requires a lot more knowledge of the diet, as it plays a huge factor in attaining the body that you want. As vegetarians you need to realize an important about yourself which is; you digest food much quicker than non vegetarians. Due to this, a vegan has to consume more often to get the sufficient energy a bodybuilder or an athlete needs to workout and for daily events. When you are working out in the gym, you have to always remember that you need to increase your daily protein intake, as your different from the average guy lying down on the bed and eating ice-cream. Though you have to increase your daily protein intake, you have to realize one important that is the excess protein which are not burned for energy will be turned into body fat. As bodybuilders you need more than just protein too, you need the eight essential amino acids. You could obtain them from the following lists of foods, don't worry there vegan-proven Corn and beans Nut butter with milk or whole grain bread Pasta with beans Beans on toast Pasta with cheese Rice and beans, peas Veggie burgers on bread Protein sources are mostly soy-based foods; for example; tofu or anything made from soy protein Take Care guys

vegans who cant eat eggs or milk better be able to drink protein powder (good thing ultimate got sale). To get the correct amount of the right amino acids (assuming you know how to combine plant protein sources to make them complete proteins) will take so much plant source that thye will need to go poopoo all day. Humans are built to eat both plants and animals.
sadly soy is not a very good substiture for uh... meat:)

Going vegans and cannot even take milk and eggs. I have one advice, forget about bodybuilding.
I once went vegan. My strength in all exercise dropped by 2-5kg a week. I dun feel tired after training, but the strength is just not there when there are no eggs, milk, meat.

Somemore i think it's a life torture to restrict type of food intake as vegan food already taste bland . Should give respect to any successful vegan bodybuilder .

Mike Mahler's a vegan, and here's how he maintains his size and strength with it. But alas, he's not a bodybuilder, just a strength coach for ten years. www.mikemahler.com/veg.htmlRead his articles and come to your own conclusions.

Actually i feel guilty when eating meat, especially after watching a horrible video that shows the cruelty to those poultry animals, not really when eating eggs or drinking milk.

At least Vitamin B12, something not found in any vegan food. B12 is needed to synthesize red blood cells.

For b12 u need to shoot into ur body leh ;D or else u got to eat a ton for it to be effective Not really lah, from dietary B12 can be absorbed by healthy people without much problem. Most people have the protein called "instrinsic factor (IF)" in their gut to bind B12 for proper absorption. Except for some genetically deficient in IF or those with part of their intestine remove due to illness. I think Dibencozide (injectable B12) has been terribly misused by bodybuilders, possibly no benefit at all.
