We have heard many people saying,
"I want to lose weight, how eh? What should I do ah? But I don't want to be skinny, I want good define muscle like those guys on Mediacorp.. Very hot man.."
We have heard this so many times in forums and when we communicate with friends, so lets put an end to do this myth which has been around for a long long time.
In losing weight the key ingredient is NUTURITION !!!
Always eat 5 - 6 meals a day, SMALL PORTIONS each time.. READ IT CAREFULLY "SMALL PORTIONS", don't stuff yourself in each meal till you feel full. Never believe the old myth of eating just 3 meals a day, which is truely garbage. Every time you eat, your metabolism kicks in to start burning what you've eaten and you begin to break it down instantly, taking everything it has to offer, from energy to nutritional content. While eating only three meals a day, your metabolism has time between meals to slow down. This is not very efficient for burning fat. Your goal here is to keep your metabolism going and burning as much fat as possible. This is done by spacing your food out to 5 or 6 smaller meals a day, or by eating approximately every 2.5-3 hours.
The next on the list is DRINK WATER. Many people skipped this, they thought all they need is to eat "EXTRIM" or drink those stupid shakes which could help them lose weight in 7 days. In this world, nature provides the best to help us to lose weight but we resort to stupid ways where we have to fork out cash and kill themselves. Water is essential when dieting or losing weight. It helps you properly utilize all of your nutrients that you take in through food, which is essential when dieting. You need every nutrient that you take in or what's the sense of eating? It will help you transport the nutrients efficiently into your cells and determine how your cells use them. You need them to keep your health and to keep putting on quality muscle. At the same time, it will help you efficiently eliminate wastes while flushing all toxins out of your body to make you even healthier.
Thirdly, is EXERCISE !!! You can never lose weight just by sitting at home at watch television or drooling over the sexy muscle that guys have on the shows.. Its time for you to make a change to yourself, get up of the couch and start doing star jumps!! Go to the weight room and start pumping weights, if you don't know how to pump the iron hard, ask any of us in the forum(sgmuscle.com), and we would be glad to help you out. Gaining muscle is really the secret to permanent fat loss as the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest on any given day. In addition, gaining muscle is the key to achieving the firm good looking body that everybody wants but dieting and cardio alone will not give. In fat loss, we should never forget about cardio. Cardiovascular exercise is of utmost importance. While doing your cardio, you want to reach a target heart rate of 65% (most efficient fat burning zone) of your maximum heart rate. To determine this, subtract your age from 220 and multiply it by 0.65. This is how many beats per minute that you want your heart pumping out while you exercise for the whole session. This is not as complicated as it sounds. Here is an example. If you are 16 years old, like me then you would subtract 16 from 220. The difference is 204. Now multiply this number by 0.65. The answer would come to 132.6, rounded off to 133. This is the ideal number of beats per minute that you want when doing your cardio. That means you want your heart to be beating 136 beats every minute during your exercise session. This is the ideal fat burning zone while you do your cardio.
Never stay up late, the effects of staying up late is worst than you think. Lack of sleep increases your hormone cortisol, which is a hormone that stores fat and burns muscle (in other words, it does the exact opposite of what you are trying to accomplish), and decreases your testosterone levels (which need to be high in order to keep your fat burning/muscle gaining processes going at full speed). While sleep requirements vary, seven to nine hours of sleep is generally a good rule of thumb. The probability of succumbing to late night cravings increases exponentially for every late hour of the day that you stay awake.
Lastly, use a good Multiple Vitamin . The reason for the Multiple Vitamin and Mineral formula is to avoid nutritional deficiencies.
Alright guys, this is my first article for this forum.
