From T-mag forums given as a number x bodyweight. Average would actually be pretty darn good for a recreational lifter. And Very Strong is nearing world class.

Team sport athletes

a) back squat (proper/competiton type)
Average: 1.6 - 2.0
Strong: 2.1 - 2.5
Very strong: 2.6 +

b) front squat (full)
Average: 1.3-1.6
Strong: 1.7-2.0
Very strong: 2.1 +

c) deadlift
Average: 1.6 - 2.0
Strong: 2.1 - 2.5
Very strong: 2.6 +

d) stiff legged deadlift

No guidelines

e) barbell hack squat
No guidelines

f) power clean / hang clean
Average: 1.0 - 1.25
Strong: 1.3 - 1.5
Very strong: 1.6 +

g) snatch
Average: 0.7 - 0.9
Strong: 1.0 - 1.2
Very strong: 1.3 +

h) barbell bench press
Average: 1.25 - 1.5

I believe with proper coaching and trainign that even the LEAST genetically gifted but otherwise healthy person can achieve Minimum the avreage standard. I can safely guarantee that to anybody who is properly coached.

i'm in the average category.

OMG, i have to do 6 plates a side for squat and deadlift, plus 4.5 plates a side for benchpress in order to qualify for the lowest range of strong class!! how can i do it???

average is actually good for a non pro athlete la! person with a family, job and other commitments... its good:) but stll can improve i beielve!

Hey CaptnJ, what would be considered strong in weighted pullups?i need to know where i stand with my 36kg PR and give a small goal to work towards but the ultimate goal is still ur 110 pound pullup:)

pullup is hard to say cos of differnet body types. The huge guys who can squat 900 and bench 700 prob cant do more than 10 full dead hang chinups. Cos they are massive.

i wouldnt quite agree that pullups are limited by one's bodyweight becos there are tons of examples over at the obese companies at pulau tekong who at 100 plus plus kg can do 20 odd pulups.It is no surprise that obese companies pride themselves on pullups and they are d**n good at it.So good that some tekong PTIs well known for their arrogance also have to give face to them and admit their strength.If i am not wrong ,gene rychlak the guy who bench 965 pounds can do 10 dead hangs while a certain russian weightlifter called uncle vasily can do 32 pullups!!both are over 300pounds!!!but yeah, for most people they are affected by their bodyweight so it could be a factor

ok... 100kg is not that massive... and pullups i mean dead hang, 2 sec pause at teh bottom , no swinging, kickign etc. If anybody can do 20 of those its very good liao i think few if any can (i also cant with the strick restrictions but i can do 25 easy with swinignig... but thats not the point hehe)

of course the examples you quote are top class athletes best of the best vasily vasilev was the O-lifing champion for years! the first man to jerk more than 500lbs so hes top class:) so i believe it is possible. but not the genral trend... the pullup guys are usually gymnast types very impressive.
