Hi Guys,
As you can see from my nick and post count, I'm a newbie. Hope to seek advise from the experienced folks here.
I've been training rather faithfully for 5 times a week for around 3 months. However, due to my work committments, most of the time, I've gotta train early in the morning. The energy level in the morning is definitely very low as compared to when I train in e afternoon or evening.
About a month ago, I started taking a whey protein shake in the morning before I train. However, I don't see much improvement on e energy level. Do you guys have any tips on how to boost energy level in the morning?
I've read about creatine and natural test boosters. Would they be effective in overcoming the low energy level in e morning?
Hope you guys can advise... Thanks..

Why are you just consuming a protein shake for pre-workout?? thats the cause of your lack of energy... all you need is a good oatmeal and protein shake... and you're good to go... you need starchy and complex carbs together with protein to start off your day after a long fast...

I did a google search on iron and found that iron needs vitamin C in order to be absorbed into the body... I've never been a big fan of fruits.. probably that's why I don't get much iron even though i'm quite a meat eater... Recently I'm taking multi vitamin supplement.. hope it'll help.. thanks for e inputs... not enough iron in your diet?

caffeine tabs, ephedrine, L-tyrosine, nootropics would help.
I'd be lost without my daily EC.

The most apparent reason for your low energy level early in the morning I believe is you are not taking enough carbo. Australian athletes take at least 600g per day. The recommendation carbo intake for an inactive adult is 300g per day. So for us, semi-active gym goers, I recommend 400g to 500g daily. If I am training early in the morning, I will have a meal with 80-100g of carbo, 30g protein with 10g of fat, 1/2 to 1 hour before bedtime. This will ensure that my energy level will not be too low in the next morning. Before 1/2 hour before training, take a mixture of protein to carbo drink in a 1:2 ratio.

Hi, Thanks for the advice. But since I'm cutting now rather than bulking, I don't think I'll have carb/fat before bed. I've added carb to my morning pre-workout "mini meal", and I've noticed i've got more energy. Think I'll just stick to that in the mean time. That's the same sort of feeling i had when i was cutting. I trained 6x a week w minimal amt of food(6x a day). Remember that when you are cutting, your calorie intake must be less than what you are burning, otherwise, you are not burning your fats. Gd on you to stay so determined.

Thanks for e encouragement. Frankly, I don't think I'm very determined.. I'm allowing myself too many "cheat" meals.. keke.. That's the same sort of feeling i had when i was cutting.
