YES !!
Of course they are alternatives.
After workout, you could consume egg whites as they are fast digesting.
Each egg white has approximtely 6 grams of protein.
GO AHEAD AND EAT IT !!!
There you go, a cheap alternative

if eating eggs appear to be abit ghastly for your taste, just break 3 into a bowl and microwave it for 2 mins. then serve with BBQ sauce. The better tasting BBQ sauce is from Heinz.

Or if you're bulking, those low-fat, high-calcium, high-protein, anything-and-whatever milk products will also do. Observe:
Daisy LF-HC milk 1L statistics(total) 01) Energy: -------------------- 510 kcal(2140kJ) 02) Protein: ------------------- 50g 03) Total fat: ----------------- 15g - Saturated fat: ----------- 11g - Unsaturated fat: --------- 4g 04) Cholesterol: --------------- 60mg 05) Carbohydrate: -------------- 45g - Lactose: ----------------- 5g 06) Dietary fibre: ------------- 8g 07) Sodium: -------------------- 490mg 08) Calcium: ------------------- 1800mg 09) CPP(Casein phosphopeptide) - 180mg 10) Vitamin A: ----------------- 12000IU 11) Thiamine(Vitamin B1): ------ 5mg 12) Pyridoxine(Vitamin B6): ---- 10mg 13) Pantothenic acid(Vit B5): -- 35mg 14) Niacin(Vitamin B3): -------- 55mg 15) Vitamin C: ----------------- 150mg 16) Vitamin D3: ---------------- 2000IU 17) Folate(Vitamin B9): -------- 1mg(1000mcg)
I would advise people to treat milk as a supplement and not some meal replacement, for obvious reasons(eg saturated fat levels). Mineral and vitamin toxicity will result from drinking anything more than 2 one-litre cartons daily for too long, btw.
