I agree with Mike Mahler to a certain extent. During my distance running days, I actually clocked better times when I ran half sick, as in the cold or flu is half-baked and not full-blown. On other hand, people have been known to drop dead doing that. There was one week I had a half-cold and I continued lifting as per normal. Was a bit more tired than usual, and not being able to breathe through the nose without inhaling mucous was very irritating.
