yea... is good to have cardio.. but you have to incorporate weight training too.. dont worry since your a girl... you will never get big ... first off , you could start off with Dumbbell triceps kickback followed by dumbell curl for your tighs.. make sure you never forget lunges.. there are a must followed by leg curl.. hope theses exercises will help you... do 3 sets of 10... and you will be good to goo.. thanks for be our 2nd female member

usually walking on the flat or without the incline is less likely to add muscle bulk. some are purely genetics.. some girls had huge calves and muscular thighs but when they start weight lifting for their legs, they start to get better defination from it.. many girls are great testimonys of this.. dont worry about getting bigger calves.s..

You'll want to avoid stair-climbing as cardio, then. That will give anyone giant thighs. ;D Btw, while swimming is good cardio, its not weight-bearing, so it won't add on to bone density. Just so you know. P.S.: In sedentary individuals, women store more calcium than men because of estrogen. But no one here is sedentary, so...

Stretching helps improve flexibility, and reduces contractile force, not something you want on heavy compound movements like squats, but I don't suppose you do those. Don't worry, a female's testosterone levels are dimunitive compared to a man's. It will probably take at least a year or two before you notice thighs getting large. I should, however, bring this up. What body type are you? www.bodybuilding.com/fun/becker3.htm

Ah, good, good. Between endomorph and mesmorph. You have joined the club of me, uncle Oracle and captnj. Basically it means that your bones are larger than normal, your body likes to store fat, and keep a medium amount of muscle.
Watch what you eat, that's all I can say in addition to what has already been said.

Hey...climbing stairs should give you a better shaped butt rite?? climbing stairs will give you big calves?? seriously?? The butt muscles, the gluteus maximus are hard to shape or get bigger because they are built to last for extended periods of time, because of their role in helping with the legs to move. Same with the calves. They are both built to last for long periods of time, and will resist attempts to get them to grow any bigger than necessary. Not impossible per se, just difficult. Besides, stair-climbing is more of a quadriceps (thigh) exercise, given that it has the job of pulling your body up.

Thumbs up for lunges - walking or standing, they are a must for anyone who want shredded glutes. Rich Gaspari is a firm believer of them.
