Shall check out the school when i am free, though i am bought by your article about gymnastic,is there anywhere near Hougang to learn fundamentals of it?

Shiok....no holds barred. The jap audience are really blood-thirsty. Speaking of MMA, there's 1 such school near Chulia St, operated by a guy called Da Silva.

If you are refering to local stores, then sorry i don't know. Hmm, i don't know any gymnastics schools near Hougang. And btw, in my opinion, most gymnastics schools charge exhorbitant prices, not worth going. Just training the basics at home is good enough. Also most of them are not wholistic in a sense that they teach stuff mainly from artistic gymnastics. Things like martial arts stances and kicks are usually not taught. And since you already are in martial arts, you are already doing gymnastics. NB: if you agree with Crossfit's definition of gymnastics then you know what i mean. Refer to www.crossfit.com/cf-info/journal.html for more info.

When i was in sec school it was 3 to 4 times a week, 3 to 4 hours a day. From several sources, the pros start at about 5 years old, train 5 to 6 times a week, 8 hours a day. I train 6 days a week, throughout the day Grease The Groove (GTG) style. Doing a few reps every now and then everywhere. Capoeira training 2 times a week, 2 hours each. Back off every about 4th week. Used to do quite a lot of abs exercises. But after starting GTG, my exercises are tough enough for the abs and whole body so i do quite little direct ab work.

Hi herman.
You are very toned and lean, excellent. How tall are you and waist? Also biceps size?
What do you want to achieve by going low reps and weight training?

Sorry, but whats GTG? Grease the Groove means smoothing the movement pattern of some specific skills. Imagine a door hinge. The more you more it through its full range, the more shiny and smooth it becomes. On the other hand, leave it untouched for sometime and it rusts. The same thing happens to our movement skills. So this approach to strength is "train as frequent as possible while staying as fresh as possible". Refer to Pavel's any books and ZAtsiorsky's Science and Practice of Strength Training.

Hi herman. You are very toned and lean, excellent. How tall are you and waist? Also biceps size? What do you want to achieve by going low reps and weight training? 1.70m tall, waist ~29 inches, biceps ~12 inches. Low reps for maximal strength to do all those crazy gymnastics strength moves. Weights is just for variety, i seldom do weights. WHen i do, it's mostly the old school strength moves like bent press etc.
